An excellent book that is full of detail and facts about the 14th century. Barbara Tuchman used numerous sources and tried to locate as many first hand accounts that still exist. It covers the black plague which first appeared during that time and the downfall of the knights and the crusades. ...
I think if in the title a mention of "Hundred Years War" would have been more than useful, for the not-necessarily- a-history buff/geek like me would have had a better notion of what he/she was getting in to. From that perspective, it is a good investigative work, IMO, but if you weren't expecting, ...
