This is a fabulous book - I started tearing up from page one...with inspiration and admiration. So well written you're 'in the moment' from the first chapter, but not sugar-coated or sentimental. The horse shows quiet determination just like the man, and the facts stand on their own for that time in our country, and the owner's terrifying past. It is woven with words of courage and hope that need to be shared with horse-lovers and families alike. Priceless story of redemption!
Outstanding book. I had read, just a little bit, about Snowman when I was a kid in a book called More Than Courage.
It took a lot of courage for Harry to pay $80 for an unknown horse and turn him into a riding horse for the school he was employed at and patience to turn him into a jumper. And what a jumper!
Worth every penny I spent and the copy I bought here now belongs to my town's library.
