Having been to Florence and seen many of Michelangelo's masterpieces, I loved Irving Stone's writing style that brought Michelangelo's personality and thought process into his works, especially that of David. It was an entertaining semi-history lesson on what was happening around the late 1400's and early 1500's that spurred and squashed some of the world's greatest artists.
However, the book binding was not in good condition and fell apart throughout my reading process which was annoying and disappointing as I can not pass the book along to anyone else.
