Every time I think there's nothing left to learn about the holocaust more relevant information shows up. Well written and absorbing. If only it were a work of fiction.

Good writing keeps you interested throughout as well as the fascinating subject matter. I found the depiction of violence directed at Americans in 1933 and the indifference of the Nazis revealing. Ambassador Dodd's personal life is also interesting and that of his daughter.
