Very Good. No Jacket. Ex-library copy but appears to have been unused. Blue cloth with gold lettering. Bright and crisp as is the text. Pocket and bar code on the ffep and stamp on the bottom of the title page.
Very Good-with no dust jacket. 292 Navy blue cloth boards. Fair amount of bumping to the head and tail of the spine and light bumping to the corners. Gilt lettering and design on the spine and that on the front board is not as shiny as it once was, but is still bright and a little shiny. Just enough rubbing to the corners to lighten the color of their tips. Light edgewear in isolated places around the outside edges. Ex-Library book, but only markings are a couple stamps on the endpapers-one on FEP, FFEP, title page and RE P. Previous owner has written her name on the top of the FFEP in blue ink. Small sticker has number on it right next to name-""2, 315, 006"". Pages are clean, white and crisp with sharp corners and edges. Some spine lean.
New. 304 pp. 0806306823. This important collection of ship passenger lists from The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography ranges from brief name lists to full-blown articles giving passengers' places of origin, occupations, wives and children, dates of arrival, etc. With minor exceptions the lists document arrivals at the port of Philadelphia between 1682 and 1819 and identify approximately 6, 000 immigrants, mainly British and German, the majority being named in two extensive lists of indentured servants and apprentices. Most of these lists were transcribed from manuscripts in the possession of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
