Good For Sources

To call this current is rediculous. One, it is almost 15 years old and does not reflect a number of current historians views. Also, his narative stops at 1965. The troop buildup bagan in 1965. The war had ten more years to run. TET didn't happen until 1968. It is a reasonable source for locating information, i.e., the bibliography/notes. However, to take the author's statements as fact would be a huge error!

Required Reading

McMaster certainly does his homework. This work is required reading for anyone wanting to know about the Vietnam war or for anyone wanting to know about how those in positions of authority should NOT go about waging war. One caution, however, McMaster "ain't no" Tom Clancy. This is not a pleasurable read. You will earn the knowledge you gain.
