Good book a fast read covering the big game animals.

I'm sorry to say that the high hopes I had for this book were not realized. I found the subject matter interesting, but the writer's style annoying. He comes across as quite a braggart. He uses lots of slang and drops lots of names in what appears to be an attempt to validate his claim as the" World's Greatest White Hunter". I have no doubt that most of his stories are true in that they occured, but his participation seems too convenient. It makes it hard to accept his claims of all of this as first hand experience.

If African big game hunting is your type of read then this book is one of the best. Well written with witty anecdotes about life on safari in modern times, it covers all the big game animals in some detail backed with his personal experiences during his time in Africa. He sets the scene with articulate ease but holds nothing back in the detailed descriptions of the gruesome !!
