I wish there were more

This is the last of the three memoirs. In each, Worth manages to recreate a long gone world, the East End in the late 1950s. Worth shows it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly, with warmth and kindness. The nuns were extraordinary people. I wish I could have known them, and especially enjoyed her portrait of Sister Monica Joan. The TV series is very good, but the memoirs do a better job of showing Worth's growing maturity and love. The books are clear and realistic, too, showing true kindness without sentimentality.
