Very good. Book one has a spine crease, one weak spot. Just a tiny bit of wear to edges. Very clean. 2 volumes. All books, legends, and myths about Custer ultimately derive from this major biography about one of the most central and controversial figures in American history. First published in 1876, just six months after Custer's death at the famous Battle of Little Bighorn, it was written from the contemporary perspective of Frederick Whittaker, an author who was well-known for his dime novels about swashbuckling adventurers, and who greatly admired Custer.
