Show synopsis A complete reproduction of the 1941 cocktail bar guide HERE'S HOW, with a new introduction by Ross Bolton. Just before America was sunk into World War 2, and eight years after prohibition ended, out came a little wooden covered book out of Ashville, N.C., with quirky little drawings on about every page by Tad Shell and filled with drinks to make one merry. And so here it is in reprint to be enjoyed again by a whole new generation. Really a piece of Appalachian region cocktail folk art, if there can be such a thing, Here's How is really a bar guide of subtle sophistication. Featuring around 250 cocktails with measurements, it covers the popular favorites like Fizzes and Juleps, as well as obscure drinks like "Negus," "Rumfustian," and "Absinthe Frappe." Also great about this book is that it is a time capsule of drinks and toasts at the time, which allows us to date the progression of drink popularity.
