Excellent review of related literature by two knowledgeable researchers and authors. The book was divided among the the authors. The first section should be a good primary for amateur archaeologists while Janette Deacon reviewed the history of the Khoekhoen and the advent of pastoralism. The importance of marine reserves and the changes of diet of the hunter-foragers to herders is well-supported. I obtained a number of references which I had missed. Enjoyed the read.
