This was an informative and easily readable book about three American civilians who contributed greatly to WW II effort in Britain. Edward R. Murrow and Averill Harriman are well known but the man who worked so hard to foster understanding between the British people and American soldiers, John Gilbert Winant, is largely unknown in the US but revered in England.
This book gives a good understanding of the struggles of the British people just to survive and what these three men did to help.
Excellent book. I was very young at the beginning of WWII and it was very interesting to read the history of the conflict and Roosevelt's reluctance to get into the war.
Plus learn about the other persons so closely connected to the situation.
Well worth the read.
