Good- No Jacket as Issued. 12mo-over 6¾"-7¾" tall. 384pp. REbound for private library, maroon half-leather boards with gilt lettering/flower decoration to spine. No date, perhaps 1890s. "Land & Water" Edition. Illustrated by Frances E. Ewan. Frontispiece protected with tissue, and further plates in text. Ex-Libris sticker on inner front cover. Inner pages are clean (no writing, underlining, or highlighting) but yellowed with age. Some darkening to several page edges. Binding is tight. Text block has some minor moisture warpage. Outer page edges are scuffed/dustsoiled. Boards are scuffed/scraped, moderate rubbing to extremities (leather worn away in a few spots), head/heel of spine and corners slightly frayed. Ink to boards is beginning to flake off when handled. Book has a slight old/musty smell. Nice reading copy.
