Anne is not the same author she was when writing the vampire chronicles and writing about the Mayfair witches. However, she has not lost her touch in story-telling. She is still able to ensnare the reader into the gothic Middle Ages, and make you feel like you are really there! Toby O?Dare is a far more interesting character than the angel Malchiah.
