Good+ in Not Issued jacket. 8vo-over 7æ"-9æ" tall. Hardcover, blue cloth lettered in white red and black, with images of Japanese and Russian flags on front cover. Salesman's sample, approximately 75 pages, illustrated with numerous full page photographs and drawings of eye-witness accounts, plus maps. Affixed to inside rear cover is the faux Morocco spine of the deluxe edition. The book was also issued in cloth. Ruled note pages at rear indicate seven standard editions ordered at $1.50 apiece [deluxe edition was $2.00]. N.B. This is not the actual book but a preview, carried dorr to dorr for subscription sales. It contains a sampling the the text and illustrations that will appear in the published work. No previous ownership marks. Some mottling to cloth. Hinges strong, text and illustrations clean. A nice example of an early salesman's copy. Good+.
