This famous textbook is really excellent; every physics student should read and master it

Gold Standard

by MikeOConnor on Feb 1, 2012

I just wanted to report that the book was very highly regarded in the mid 1960's (I was in an advanced undergraduate course in mechanics at the time and we were using the second edition then). So it's been an "acknowledged standard" for about 45 years, not 30. At $12 it's a steal.

Carefully written thoughtful introduction to Classical Mechanics.

Excellent reference text.

I needed to confirm some coordinate transformations, that I was doing for my job. This book was exactly what I needed. It also gives a great explanation of the problems in classical mechanics. Most books do not give explanations that are as easy to comprehend on this topic., but, this book is very clear and easy to use. (Requires some math and physics background)
