Women's Spiritual Issues

by knycthomason on Jul 6, 2010

I liked this book instantly because it was like sitting down with someone and just talking. This book really held my attention from the very beginning and when I got to Chapter Four, "Wounded", it awoke something within me. Speaking to my heart and soul on the very thing that affects not just myself but many other women as well. The questions discussed were, "Am I lovely or captivating?" This is the thing we look to our fathers and daddies to figure out, other men as well but first our fathers. They are the ones who treat us as little princesses or kittens. They are the protectors and providers and nurturerers. This really stirred my feelings that I actually see between my oldest daughter and her father. Theirs is a very stressed relationship and I can see this very story played out between them and how it has affected my daughter. I find the relationship somewhat troubling since I have to play both mother and father to my 3 kids. Not an easy task for a single mom. Its a role thats not easily filled. But I gained insight into what things my daughters think. The pain inflicted by absent fathers is really skyrocketing today. Marriages broken, promises unforfilled, lots of heartache and emptiness. Absent fathers always leave a empty hole that waits to be filled with whatever can fill it when there is only one thing and one person big enough to repair that hole-God/Jesus.
