The Civil War Memoirs of Captain William J. Seymour: Reminiscences of a Louisiana Tiger - Jones, Terry L (Editor)

Other than official reports, journalist William J. Seymour's description of the bombardment of Fort Jackson, Louisiana, in April, 1862, is the only extant narrative of that event by a Confederate soldier. His are also the only memoirs by any field or staff officer of the First Louisiana Brigade in the Army of Northern Virginia.
