11 people met with a MeetUp group and discussed for one and one half hours at a sandwich shop. This book is not for Christians who want the "status quo" It is for those who are searching for a better way to think about God and Jesus than has been for the past centuries. Given the work of the Jesus Seminars made up of theologians who have looked into the history of Christianity found that much of the New Testament was not the truth about Jesus. Very exciting if you want to open your mind to more in your life.
If you are a church going Christian or a member of the Church Alumni Association, as Dom Crossan calls the "fallen away," this book should be required reading. It rephrases and puts into practical terms Christianity that is at once faith-filled and based on the extensive analysis done by the progressive Christian scholars of the last few years.
