Any true-blue Alabama fan will certainly delight in reading this account of lead singer Randy Owen's hometown roots and the joys and pitfalls of being a member of one of country music's greatest groups. When I ordered the book, I actually didn't expect it to be as good as it really is -- after all, I thought, how much can be said about the rise of a country band? But Randy's personal feelings, his great love for his family, his gratitude for his fans, his faith, and his small-town upbringing add so much more to that. The book is very well-written and hard to put down.
