Christian Theology has been revised to take account of changes in the theological world as well as changes in the intellectual, political, economic, and social worlds. Several sections have been added, including a new chapter on postmodernism. At other points the discussion has been updated, and some portions of the original have been condensed, since the issues they originally dealt with are no longer as crucial as they once were. Also new to the second edition are a number of educational refinements, including chapter objectives, chapter summaries, and study questions.

I've only gotten through the first couple of chapters. However, the book has already raised some good questions in my mind and has caused me to think. I am a Masters of Divinity Student at Maranatha Baptisti Bible College and I am using Erickson's work for my theological studies

Very good book on Christian theology. He goes through the major tenets of Christianity in a thought provoking way. He really delves into the topic and looks at it from many angles. So good that I want to get volume two.

Broad Scoped and Fair
Whenever I'm studying some particular Biblical topic I like to look it up in Millard Erickson's Christian Theology because of all the Systematic Theologies his is the best at giving a broad and fair view of contributions to each topic. For every topic with theology Erickson presents many of the viewpoints and then finally presents his own. I certainly don't agree with his final view on every topic, but is such a thing even possible with a Systematic Theology? In any case, when I want a quick overview of some subject in theology I like to hit Erickson first before I look elsewhere because I know that he will most likely give me a broader view of the subject than anyone else.
