Professor Cullmann was a German theologian in the last century, writing at the same time as Karl Barth, Emil Brunner, and Rudolf Bultman, among others. He accurately and helpfully draw the distinctions between their views and his own, with the focus on Heilsgeschichte. He pictures time as a straight line, continuous with eternity which he insists is of the same quality, while other theologians argue that they differ. He suggests that although it might seem that an infinite line has no middle, in fact Christ is the middle of time. This book will make difficult but stimulating and instructive reading for a serious student. It's not easy summer reading.
