The story about Americans who suffered great hardships in the Revolutionary War is one that every American should know about.

While not a whole lot has been written on this topic, this book is the place to start, and at least for now, to finish. For the general reader, there's plenty here and very well presented. For the specialist, there are nuggets of information throughout and not just on American POWs. Interestingly, the author also alludes to situations that are relevant to current discussions on torture and treatment of prisoners!
I highly recommend it.
