This is my second copy. I gave away my first and wanted to read it again during the summer. I hope to visit Guernsey someday because of this book. If you enjoy romance, humor, and surprises mixed in with a little history, you will love this book

I loved this book. The format and the characters are quirky but believable and it is easy to read. It gives a realistic, human insight into the German occupation of Guernsey during WW2 without being morbid or sensationalist. I have recommended it to all my friends who have all loved it too.

This delightful account of the interactions between the Guernsey Islanders and their Nazi German occupiers during World War II is fascinating as well as charming. I heartily recommend it.
