Encyclopedic and Informative

GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES by Gary Taubes covers dietary and nutritional science for the last 150 years,making it plain that science research doesn't travel in a straight line. Happenstance, personalities, and politics can get in the way. That is why fat became a moral issue, implying that fat people are fat because they're greedy. In truth, they are fat for other reasons and therefore they eat because they are fat. Taubes describes the science in nearly 500 pages, but in terms that non-scientists can follow, if they are attentive. It's a lot to bite off, so to speak, but definitely rewarding for anyone interested in nutrition.

This is the first and most detailed book I've read, and it exposes something I've suspected for a LONG time: Carbohydrates -- especially in the quantities per day recommended by the US Government -- cause not only obesity, but exacerbate various diseases too! Read the book and learn why we are FAT, and what to do about it!

Hello, Do you want to know what the actual science says about why we get fat? Have you tried every "Diet" and nothing works? This book will change all that!
