Excellent explanation of music perception

by Aaron W on Oct 7, 2010

This is a great effort toward describing the universal constraints on the nature of music. Our memory processes inherently shape the way music is perceived and this book describes that in accessible ways that apply universally to all music. Of what I've seen so far, this is my favorite book on music theory related ideas. If someone understands this, then all the culturally specific music theory you will see in other music theory texts will all make much more sense. Highly recommended!
