The Hunger Pastor (German Classics) - Raabe, Wilhelm, and Almon, Muriel (Translated by), and Eiserhardt, Ewald (Introduction by)

Raabe's novel, published in 1864, is a classic example of the so-called "poetic realism" to which many--primarily bourgeois--German writers were devoted between 1850 and 1890. The work remains a German literature classic.
