As always, Alton Brown entertains. Not only was it a really fun read with great bits of Americana spread throughout, but the recipes are totally accessible. I especially love the BBQ ones, my mouth is watering just thinking of it! Not only did this book make me want to cook (which my roommate always appreciates) but it made me want to travel too. Hittin' the open road with the wind in your face and the promise of a great meal on the way. Can't beat it. Only thing is better not be a vegetarian, or you're outta luck here. This is my first AB book, and after this one, I'll be on the lookout for his other ones. Definitely a good choice for cooks and non-cooks alike.
This book is a fun read. Alton Brown rides across country on his bike, samples each region?s food, and picks up some really delicious recipes along the way. It?s like Ted Simon?s ?Jupiter?s Travels? with food. Cool twist on the cookbook genre.
