Kresley Cole continues her series with another Wroth brother, Conrad Wroth, a rather tormented creature who was once sworn to destroy all vampires only to be made into one by his brothers. Driven insane by this betrayal it is centuries before his brothers find him again and lock him away in hopes of helping him. Neomi Laress was once a popular ballerina in the 1920s but a jilted ex-fiance ends her life prematurely and she is stuck as a ghost haunting her beautiful home in New Orleans. These two meet when Conrad is jailed in Neomi's home by his brothers in hopes of helping him regain his sanity by weaning him off the bloodlust that has consumed him. Both Conrad and Neomi are great characters but the story itself was a bit rough. It did not move as smoothly as I would have liked, with too many almost but not quite happy endings that is suddenly thwarted when a new element crops up and twists things around. There should only be so many of those before the reader is wondering just when is the story going to end. But overall it is a good story and I did enjoy it.
