new york review of books has quite a catalog of beautiful titles and this one sticks out for a number of reasons. i'll judge it by its cover, that alone is worth the buy, but in seriousness, the book itself is a wonderful treatise on the human condition. karinthy gives us a detached kind of humor in the face of uncertainty and suffering. he writes simple, elegant prose and there are lines in this book, reflective and heartbreaking, that will stick with you long after you've finished reading.
