I read this book through a book club at local library. Thats why I bought these books for neighbor who's wife is no longer with us but passed away with alzheimers. They had 4 sons, so I shared this book with him. As you know it sometime is followed in families. Each son now has a copy and will help to be prepared if needed in the future. Lillian

At first when I realized that it was fiction, I wasn't sure if I would read the book. I did and enjoyed it. I found it to be factual and plausible to the subject matter. It saddened me to see what could happen to someone actually diagnosed with the disease. The response by the family was thought provoking I am currently a caregiver for my sister who is a dialysis patients. It helped me to be more aware. Great book.

This book should be required reading. Very tastely written.

An excellent and eloquent story about dementia in its early stages and the impact on family as well as the confusion it represents for the person experiencing it. While many might find the whole topic too depressing to want to read about, particularly in a novel or fiction, the novelist really illuminates the experience and lets the reader get a feel for the sometimes wondrous emotional and spiritual aspects of this illness. All of us can learn from this book in ways that we might not imagine.

Did anyone else find this book haunting?

I could not put this book down. I read it in one day. Problem was for about three days, everytime I'd forget something, I would think I had alzheimers. Doesn't run in my family, so I wasn't really worried. It was just bizarre. I was totally engrossed in the book.
