Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job; loyal friends; his dream home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life, he believes that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite Travis's attempts to be friendly, she seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him. But something compels Travis to get to know his new neighbour. His persistent efforts lead them both to make tough decisions, the consequences of which neither could have foreseen. The Choice confronts us with that most heart-wrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?
ANOTHER WELL WRITTEN LOVE STORY! I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO LOVES HIS BOOKS.

Very romantic...shows the ups and downs of any relationship and the work required to make it successful!

a real disappointment
This book was absolutely awful. There was no character development whatsoever and the story was not even plausible. I felt no emotion for these characters, and I was insulted by the poor writing. I have read some of Nicholas Sparks other books, and have not found them lacking, but this one was one I wish I had not wasted my time on. I got the impression that he never even tried. The basic idea was barely fleshed out at all, and I doubt that even the author himself will remember these characters.

Excellent story would recommend to anyone who enjoys love story with a twist. Plan to read other books by author.

Another touching love story by Sparks. He has the ability to take a lifetime of memories and condense them into the events of a few days, and the current afternoon, and distill from the description of those events, the key elements of a touching love story. His characters are always likeable, funny and real. His analysis of deep feelings and struggles over serious issues is insightful and never flippant. I'm glad it turned out as it did, although, in real life, I doubt it would have. But then, that's why it's called fiction.
