Effective parenting-without the power struggles. As parents, you have only a few years to prepare your children for a world that requires responsibility and maturity for survival. That thought alone can send shivers down your parental spine! So what do you do? Hover over your children so they never make mistakes? Drill them so they will remember the important principles when you're on their own? Tear your hair out, wondering if teaching them responsibility is anything but a battle of wills? If you want to raise children who are self-confident, motivated, and ready for the real world, take advantage of the win-win approach to parenting. Your children will win because they will learn responsibility and the logic of life by solving their own problems. And you will win because you will establish healthy control - without resorting to anger, threats, nagging, or exhausting power struggles. This CD puts the fun back into parenting!

This book is great for parents whose children seem to be constantly our-of-control. It gives all parents options which offer better solutions than the "I yell , and they ignore me" way of unsuccessfully dealing with child/adult problems. Now, when noise has frequently replaced sound decisions, it is a welcome relief for any and all who deal with kids of any age.

Common Sense Parenting
This book shows you how to use natural consequences and your common sense in teaching children how to control themselves. After all, that is really what responsiblity is about, isn't it? The ability to put aside your wants and desires to complete a task or make a choice that is best for you and others around you. The authors are very good in giving you specific examples of situations that commonly arise and how to handle them. They are also very good at coaching you as the parent. When you follow their suggestions on how to handle your child as a parent, the success you and your child experience gives you more opportunities to do friendly things together in a mutually respectful atmosphere. Win/win situation!!
