If you are open to improving how you deal with dependent people, this book can change your life and open your mind to who is really controlling who.

This book explains exactly how to accomplish this

I didn't realize how deep-seated my habit of co-dependency was. Wasn't even aware that I was acting in this manner and hurting myself as well as reinforcing the behaviors of my loved ones. It is a good thing, not bad, to do the things that bring ourselves joy and peace. I had this all mixed up and thought I needed to suffer to earn a place in this world. This book has been around for a long time; however, it deserves to be read again and again. I highly recommend it to anyone who suspects or knows that they have assertiveness problems.

A definite wake-up call! This book is so personal, easy to read, and easy to identify with that the author achieves her goal of helping people! I couldn't NOT see myself in her writing, even though not every single thing applied. A well laid out book, thoughtfully arranged; it walks you through a difficult yet necessary progression. I suspect that every breathing adult could benefit by reading this book - it really is that good!

Codependent No More" is an eye-opening look at yourself. It is as if Ms. Beattie got inside your head/ heart and wrote what she found. This book is an extremely useful tool to help you get your mind off of the problems of others and concentrate on yourself. You can learn how to detach from another person in a healthy way, and in that, help both of you. I purchased a copy for a friend and she was very glad I did. This should be in everyone's personal self-help collection.
