This was a cute, short story. These two women discovered they were stronger and healthier than they, and their tribe who abandoned them, thought. Excellent story of survival and determination.

Two Old Women

by finnginn on Feb 28, 2008

This is one book I re-read at least once a year and order more for friends. It is a story of two Alaskan women who have been left behind due to their roving tribe's lack of food. They know that they are left to die as they are too old to help hunt. How they manage is what the whole book is about and, to me, is very encouraging. Because I too am an elderly woman, the appeal is great. The author is Alaskan, and gives one a vivid account of what life was like in the wilderness and life in general of a tribe which must keep moving to exist. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, regardless of age.
