Authentic ancient and modern stories

Barbara Duncan has collected an amazing basketful of authentic ancient and modern stories from the Eastern Band of the Cherokee. She offers a brief biography of each storyteller, bringing the person, as well as their stories, to life. The introduction gives insight into the history of the Cherokee, the Trail of Tears, and how the Eastern Band was formed. As a descendent of a member of the Eastern Band, I found a fascinating wealth of information my grandmother had never shared with our family.
