I had it as a three in one and wanted a copy that was just one story in the book, those 3 in 1 get heavy after a while. I am happy with my purchase. It's a great book.

Grafton is always great.
I accidentally ordered this book when I already had a copy at home. I reread it anyway. I have read many of Sue Grafton's books (more than once) and all are excellent. A is for Alibi is the first in the series of Kinsey Millhone mysteries. Well worth reading - and reading again!

Grafton is Great
Since I love mysteries and read so many, I read the first of Sue Grafton's series, A is for Alibi. She comes across as a fantastic author with a sense of humor and relates much to the public. She is actually so every day, you seem to get into her story immediately. She is an author of description, which I mean, she lays it all out and describes her almost every move, daily habits, (which one can relate to at times). Her descriptions of her characters are very vivid and realistic. She has a gift for giving the reader a good view of the present situation and always has some type of humor connected with some of the situations she encounters. This is her first book and I am going to read all of them. When you read the first page, it catches your interest so you will not want to put it down.Everone who likes mystery, crime should give this author a try. I am going to continue with the rest of the series and I am sure I will not be disappointed.

My sister turned me on to these books just after her third book came out. I started reading them in order "A is for Alibi" was quite riveting. I finished it in one afternoon, I couldn't put it down. Then I went out and got the next 2 books then it was the waiting game until the next one came out. I received her latest one T is for Temptation for Christmas now I just have to find time to read it somewhere between my busy schedule. All of her books start out the same she tells you a bit about herself, where she lives, about the man she rent's from, the building she works in and the insurance company she does some work for. Kinsey Millhone is a real hoot, she's just so funny, she eats in this one restaurant and she has only ONE DRESS -- BLACK which she keeps in the back seat of her car just in case a dress is called for. After she tells you all about herself then she starts to tell you about the case she's working. Kinsey practically lives in her car she sits and watches and makes notes on 3 x 5 note cards, when it all starts to come together is when she uses the cards as puzzle pieces. Kinsey's great. you'll love her! Please be warned you really kind of need to read these books in order. There are times she will refer back to a previous case or person that she knew or had met. When you read them out of order it can be a bit confusing because you have absolutely no idea what she's talking about. Sue Grafton has the gift of great imagination something I thought wasn't around anymore, and when you are reading the exploits of Kinsey Millhone it is like you are right there in the middle of the whole thing. You are able to visualize every bit of what she is writing. ENJOY, LAUGH OUT LOUD, CRY, right along with Kinsey...........
