Book was too slow in parts for me. Good topic however.

This book is full of things we have all heard before. It is boring and it is hard to keep the characters straight. Don't waste your time.

Jamaican imigrants move to England after WW II , hoping to find jobs and a better life, instead face racial and cultural discrimination. Each character's vioce is clear and distinct as the story progresses. I think this is Levy's first book. Wow!
