Brookes is good, that's an understatement, as a shrink myself I appreciate the depths of his research and his explanations in laymen's terms, nice work David.

Great social commentary just shy of the perfection of Brooks' previous "Bobos in Paradise". More insight into why upgrading to the next kitchen appliance and fabulous vehicle is the goal of a blessed but spoiled Western society. Wondering why we all never seem satisfied with what we've got? Blame wickedly smart marketing execs (but feel better knowing they're probably tied up in the same futile race) Written like a gentle roast to his peers, Brooks tackles the commercial-lust that afflicts us.
