I have no personal interest in this book, but a friend of mine just became pregnant, and because of the excellent reviews it has received, I bought a copy for her. She thinks it is outstandaing.

This book is a great book, lets you know about anything you can almost think about.
However, it does have a lot of information and i recently gave it to my sister in law and she got kind of scared in knowing all the bad stuff that can happen... every chapter brakes it down for you on what to expect your body going through. I would recomend this book to any pregnate woman or anyone trying to get pregnate.

A must have
Very helpful, informative guide that goes from conception to after birth with you.
Publishers Weekly, 2008-04-21 Murkoff is back with yet another edition of the indispensable What to Expect When You're Expecting--this time with a largely rewritten and revised edition of the comprehensive guide she introduced 24 years ago. The book has undergone an extensive overhaul, beginning with the cover, which depicts a stylish expectant mom dressed in jeans and a form-fitting shirt--a far cry from the original text's comfy, frumpy mom seated in a rocking chair. Inside, the author has added a number of new features, including a chapter that draws upon current research to steer parents-to-be to a healthier lifestyle even before conception begins, chapters on healthy eating and giving birth to multiples (a growing trend) and expanded sections on working during pregnancy. While the general layout and appearance of the book will be familiar to readers, Murkoff has successfully broadened and sharpened the material while keeping the overall style and presentation intact. Publishers Weekly, 2002-03-25 This revised third edition of the popular pregnancy guide offers the authoritative yet reassuring advice that parents have come to rely on from all the titles in the What to Expect series. The book is arranged by month, from pregnancy test through labor and delivery. Each section offers answers to frequently asked questions, along with features such as "What You May Be Feeling" and "What You May Be Concerned About." Every imaginable issue is addressed, including the small but nagging subjects that women may not want to discuss with their doctors, such as how their bodies will look at seven months, or why some pregnant women "glow" while others have acne. While readers who already own this book won't have to rush to buy the new edition, the revised volume does offer a number of excellent expanded sections and illustrations, including a more detailed discussion of postpartum depression. There are also new illustrations and more text on breast-feeding, with diagrams showing different feeding positions. The travel section offers specific suggestions for "jettisoning jet lag" in addition to standard advice on traveling while pregnant. This book remains an indispensable guide for pregnant women and their partners. (Apr. 24) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved
