Exciting facts, well written
I think the writer,Kurson, helps us get a good feel for the people involved and the dangerous sport/business of deep sea wreck diving. The main characters, Bill Nagle, John Chatterton and Mark Kohler, come off the page as real people. My only beef is that there seems to be a little more sympathy than I like to see for the Nazis in the sunken sub. Yeah, they were fighting for their side, but what a side. I don't have the same picture of them as "good soldiers" who died for their cause.

I first picked this up a few weeks after it came out and was hooked right from the start. Gives great incite to the world of wreck diving and the prizes and dangers that go hand in hand with the sport. Also gives great history back ground and just how bad some people will go to know the truth to some matters.

A book for every guy you know
I am a scuba diver and professional investment manager. A colleague gave me the book. A great adventure story, history told from a personal perspective, and what real men are willing to die for. I read it and bought 15 more and sent them to clients, they all thought that it was great.

great story, not only for divers
This is great story about divers who wanted to discover the name of the mistry uboot wreck. I am a diver, so I absorb such books in one night, but I think that it is very interesting for non-divers too. Although I knew this story, this book was full of tension for me, and I felt emotions of characteres. First I read this book in polish, but it is not very good tranlated (diving vocabulary is wrong and funny tranlated), so I decided to buy english version. And now it is one of my favorites book.
