Reviews of American Brutus: John Wilkes Booth and the Lincoln Conspiracies

Excellent read

by asiab123 on May 27, 2008

It is obvious to the reader that American Brutus has been extensively researched and I have found it to be the best of the books that have been written on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Once I started reading, I found it difficult to put down. I had taken a Booth escape route tour with the author, Michael Kauffman, and have heard him speak on several occasions. His knowledge of Booth's family and the assassination is amazing. I was glad to learn he had written this book. Recently, the History Channel had a special entitled "The Hunt for John Wilkes Booth" and it was based on American Brutus. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the history of Booth's assassination of President Lincoln.
