The Begining of an Amazing Journey

by ldynblk on Jan 21, 2010

This book is great for anyone with an apreciation for fantasy, western or typicall Stephen king style. The Gunslinger is only a mere introduction to the amazing adventures of Roland the Gunslinger and those he meets along the way on his quest for the Dark Tower. You will have more fun with this book if you pay attention to the little things such as songs (for example) that link Roland's world to our own. My best suggestion is that if you buy this book be prepared with the second Dark Tower book "The Drawing of Three" close at hand to avoid frustration.

Very Good Read

by mommy4five on Feb 10, 2008

I have read this and reread this before the sequels were released, It is definitely Sci Fi with a Little Western and just a dash of modern. The Mind of Stephen King is definely a very deranged one but he is one of my Fav Writers . I really enjoyed this book and it kept me longing to find out what was going to happen next.
