I loved this series so much I purchased a set for my cousin.
Some of the stories are sad and some are hysterically funny but, if you love animals, you will love this book.

We love all the James Herriot books and we were delighted to be able to purchase them in hardcover and plan to pass them on to our children and grandchildren. Anyone who loves animals, will love these books.

Open any of the books of the series beginning with this one, and out will tumble the most marvelous series of people and animals you can ever even imagine. I really love all the books I've read by J. Herriot. It's a pity I can't give them more than five stars. I'd give them ten.
