What happened next has long been shrouded in controversy. In this heartbreaking but ultimately triumphant story of courage ... Show more

Sherrod

Excellent book

by Sherrod on Nov 5, 2009

A hard book to read in that no one wants to know where we live has been quite that terrible in the not very distant past. It includes the lead up to that summer in the country and the world. And the lead up in the area where the mass killing occured. It explains how it all fit together. And then as much as is known of the actual killings and the tortures and legal trials afterward. It is very well written and amazingly well researched. It tells a story everyone in the USA should know. And yet for all the awful things that were done it has a hero like few others named Scipio Jones. A must read for everyone that wants to understand how our country got to where it is today.
