First British edition (states Published in Great Britain in 1974 on copyright page). A near fine copy in a price-clipped dust jacket with minor wear at the spine ends. A nice copy of a scarce book.

Binding nice and tight. pages very, very clean. DJ is price clipped and has light wear to the edge/corners. There is a small water mark about the size of a quarter on the dj binding-does not go through to book and isn't noticeable unless you look for it. A keen look at Europe's age of exploration.
