I first read this book when I was about ten years old and loved it - the magic of it is that I still love it 15 years later. The story of William and Mister Tom is so well-written that it makes me laugh, cry, and simle in all the same places each time I read it. The story never gets old and the characters are easy to fall in love with. This is a great book to read with kids, though I would reccommend reading it for yourself first becuase of the domestic abuse and war issues that arise. In short, this is my favorite book and I think everyone should read it at least once!
