First edition, hardcover, small remainder stamp to bottom edge, light soiling to page edges, few tiny spots to top edge, light bumps to spine ends and top corners, oitherwise solid, a VG copy in like dustjacket which has a one inch closed tear to the top of the front panel at spine, a few tiny chips to the spine ends and to the base of the rear panel, a couple of small scuffs to the color on the spine lettering, and a few short closed tears to the edges.

Very good book. Does a very good job of describing the trials and tribulations of Infantry soldiers during the Vietnam War.

James Webb was a superb soldier and therefore wrote a very insightful novel.

Fields of Fire
This book was recommended to me and it was compared to Band of Brothers. Although the book was good and was probably a very definitive book about the Viet Nam war, it does not compare in anyway to Band of Brothers. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give it a six.
