A 12 year old mute boy is left alone for the first time as he mom goes to the marketplace on market day. When his mother fails to return, due to an unexpected snowstorm, Aaron goes in search of her and falls into the hands of an innkeeper who is a pickpocket and a thief. She uses Aaron as her servant boy and will not let him leave, but that doesn't stop Aaron in his quest to escape and find his beloved mother.
