How could I have not known about this? What a fascinating meeting of history .. passenger trains ... mountain railroading and suspense.
An easy and fast read that takes you back and puts you there thru the story of the most important man in the drama - the division superintendant.
A precarious railroad thru a hostile mountain . . . a luxury train and the Fast Mail are both blocked by mega-storms. The story of the fight to free them pits man and steam machines against ice, snow, wind and intense cold.
Great gook of a true story.
